Got word from my sales guy today that since Dodge has not picked up the order, they are refunding me my deposit. Dodge accepted the order and provided a VON, but he is saying that he contacted the SRT they were informed that none of their orders were going to be picked up at this time as a dealership. He further states that they are leaving the order in and would contact me if things change but are going to refund me for the deposit. What the heck does this mean??? This is insane and I am beginning to wonder if it is even worth it at this point.

They are doing the right thing instead of holding your money and giving false hopes under the new FCA rules of allocation. Some are worried they aren't able to even get their deposit back.

Gotcha! I'd rather have the false hope lol

Well I have one other shot so I sure hope this one pans out or I am back to the old drawing board!

If you want the car, insist that they keep the deposit. Don't trust them, sounds fishy.

I thought the same. Was not sure if they used me to make the order and then try to sell the car at a hike. Gonna call SRT tomorrow and find out the status on the VON. If it has gone to a VIN, they will hear about it.

It means you can put another deposit down at another dealer and further clog the system;)

Well you could hold out or try calling around and see if someone didn't qualify or backed out on a hellcat that came in?

All I'm saying, is that you need a VON and deposit to have a shot.

This process is terrible! I wish it were a little more simple and would allow me to just purchase the car at MSRP lol

I've heard strong rumors that the ordering window is closed for 2015 Hellcats of any variety, either Challenger or Charger...Keep your VON if it has any vintage to it.

I think you have a better shot at keeping the order rather than having no order at all. It does sound fishy that the dealer wants to keep the order in. If their dealership can't get any orders fulfilled, then they should be refunding and CANCELLING the order.

What I can see happening is; the dealer refunds your deposit knowing their orders are limited. Then they use your name to keep the order as a Sold Order. Then they modify the car as they see fit and upcharge it.

They should cancel the order if they refund your money. If they refund your coin I would call SRT and let them know what happened . sounds like they want to keep it and see if it shows up. they are not legally obligated to inform you if the car shows up.. oh well customer changed his mind.. We will just have to mark it up 20k.
