So, like many folks, I was excited about the reveal of the Dodge Demon..I emailed the GM of my local dealer where I've purchased other cars and he told me they may get 1. I literally just got the email. They are pricing it around $130k. This is obviously one dealer in a pretty expensive area but I wanted to share since I have received such great information from the forum and this great community.
I put a deposit on one last weekend but my dealer (a great friend) has heard nothing about official ordering date. Has anyone heard when the order book will open? I want to make sure to be on top of the order timing.
My order is in 86,400.00. Everyone will be putting out numbers on what they think it will sticker for. But unless you know then fill in the blank. Just like all guess the HP rating.
Not everyone will pay dealer markup's. Just like the 15 Hellcats. I paid sticker for both of my 15 cats and the 16, I paid well under sticker. But since you read it on the internet then it must be true.
Tim said something very interesting abt dealers last night. All state laws are different and their franchise agreements do not prevent them from putting Admin on their cars. He also said fca can't prevent that for those reasons
They will be watching this closely
The # car will help that he said. You can't order for some fake name because that person wanting that car will not buy it without everything special that comes with your name on it.

Ruger3320, I don't mean anything negative towards you or anyone else. I'm ecstatic and hope you do get the car. The truth is, dealers are assuming and hoping they get a Demon to sell, and can't truly be taking deposits for it yet when the MSRP hasn't been released. It's going to be limited production and the dealerships will get greedy and want thousands over msrp.

I don't know why FCA or anyone else can't just tell the dealers, no mark ups, or cap it at a specific number. Stating that if caught, the car will be reallocated to another dealer.
Mostly because dealers are privately owned and the owners can charge what they want in the end. Invoice, under MSRP, ADM etc. FCA doesn't really care, they get the same money regardless of what the dealer sells it for
I won't pay any crazy mark up, in fact if they try that they'll likely lose 2 others sales, as I'll also be in the market for a new Ram to tow it (probably the one they are unveiling) to rival the Raptor, and getting a SRT Jeep for my wife.
I need to read into state laws here to see if they can go unlimited on the mark up, it would be interesting to see how all 50 states fair.
I hear you bud. It'll be very disappointing to hear of stories of people not getting the Demon, because of ridiculous mark ups. On a side note, I really enjoyed hearing Tim talk last night. Just about the brand and they way they think. I'm a recent Mopar guy and absolutely love the brand and what they do. It started with my 2012 RAM 1500, then last Thanksgiving bought a new RAM Rebel, bought a 16 Challenger SRT(because no way I was going to pay 15-20k extra for a HC). Then ended up getting my left over 16 HC for 7k under MsRP. I love it. Just trying to convince my wife to dump her Audi and get a Grand Cherokee SRT. Then my home will be all Mopar
People are so naive. The HC was never going to be a limited # car, so sure, you could find some dealers who went MSRP in 15 and 16. Then the ADM went away. If the Demon is limited, I bet less than 10% will be sold at MSRP.
I wish Dodge could set a rule where you have to show 10 timeslips, proving you drag race your HC or 392, before you can order a Demon. We don't need this car to be garage art like so many HCs are.
This is a terrible thing to say. You shouldn't tell people how to enjoy their hard work, money or cars. I don't track my Hellcat, but I really enjoy it.
I have associates to collect cars. They enjoy their cars just as much as people who race, track orcustomize them.
If I buy a Demon, I likely won't track it, but I'll likely bring it out to the desert and enjoy it MY way, just as I do with the Hellcat.
