I know a ton of people have been using CQuartz Finest on their Hellcats. I have had several cars done at a higher end car detailing place near me and while they can do CQuartz, they have always recommended other products they feel are superior. I decided to go this route on the Hellcat:

    Product range

I have done this on a Mercedes I own, and I can attribute to it making your finish hard enough to where it doesnt pick up scratches and swirlmarks. Anyways, I was curious if anyone else has heard of it or used it. I will have my car back tomorrow afternoon and will be able to post some picture.

Now to the second topic.. Stripes! Ok, let me start this off by letting people know I may be walking into a bit of a firestorm here... :) Long story short is I wanted to do something *completely* different. Well, I definitely have come up with something I have never seen done before! Here is a teaser pick:

Again, I will have full pics of the car tomorrow and will post them up.

The inspiration for the pattern in the matte black stripes is the Challenger/Charger milk crate grill. Ironically, the Challenger Hellcat doesn't have this style and I had to elongate it some for it to look decent on the car due to the curves in the body, so its an artistic twist on the theme... :)

Maybe I need to put some "NO STEP" warnings like they do on airplanes??

Yes, its pitch black. The finish on my car straight from the dealership was pretty horrible. Tons of surface scratches and swirl marks. I had all of the corrected before having the full Ceramic Pro treatment and am really happy with how it turned out. I talked to the detailer today about some of the differences between CQuartz Finest and Ceramic Pro and he said they are targeted at accomplishing the same goal, but Ceramic Pro protects against more potential contaminants vs. the others (including CQuartz Finest). One situation in particular is acid rain or in situations where air born pollutants can be in the air when it rains. Apparently CQuartz Finest has issues with both these situations and allow the finish to be etched by the contaminants. Ceramic Pro has paid to have their products tested in these situations and it still protects the finish. The other part of the tests include being run through the equivalent of 10+ years of being on the car. Ceramic Pro has a warranty that says it will last for a certain number of years (I believe its 10 years) and includes taking the car to a Ceramic Pro dealer once per year and having them detail the car to ensure the coating is still working as advertised. These checkups are also already included in the original price, so there are no additional costs which is pretty cool!

I have some more pictures, but I had a heck of a time getting them to look decent. The shop I had this work done at actually has a photobooth for cars and they took a bunch of the car before I picked it up. I will have those ones posted Monday or Tuesday, but in the meantime here are the ones I took myself today..

Thanks man! Yeah, definitely a gamble when I decided to go down this route (especially with the time involved in doing this).. I promise the "real" pictures will do a better job in giving it the justice this deserves; just didnt want to leave people hanging too long. I took the car to a couples places today and everyone who saw it commented on it. So far, everyone who has seen it in person has really liked it!
