I just picked by silver beauty this morning, and what a car!

Could somebody verify a couple things for me? It appears that I have some "damage" on the rear applique where the Dodge lettering is. In the middle of the second D, I have an indentation I don't think should be there (see pic below). If the factory uses this method the center the lettering it is stupid!

Also, do people have 2 "dimples" on their front bumper, where the front plate would attach?

    Thanks!

The two dimples on the front are normal, they are the guide molds for the front plate. The dimples are also normal and are the mold injector marks.

I kind of knew the front dimples were for the plate, but wondered if cars that went to states without a front plate law, could get bumpers without them. The dealers in those states don't have to order the front plate holder...not a huge deal. However, the rear "dimple" is unacceptable in my mind. It looks like I got drunk and tried to use a key to open the trunk through the "D." I like to "de-babge" vehicles because I don't really like stickers. I wanted to remove the "Dodge" from that applique. I think the car would like a lot better with out the lettering there, but it would make that mark stick out more with out some kind of "fix." It is what it is, I guess.

Fortunately, there is a Three-Step Cure for the "rear panel injection mold dimple issue":

    1) Drive Car More

    2) Scrutinize Minutiae Less

    3) Forget about Dimple

If 1-3 do not work, sell car, buy yourself a Lexus, the preferred vehicle of anal-retentive Anethesiologists, world-wide!

I removed the DODGE letters and applied the Challenger emblem. I found the dimples most helpful in getting the emblem leveled and centered properly. I assumed that they were there for the same purpose when the DODGE emblem is applied in the factory. No one else will ever see them!

Get some of those vinyl stick on bullet holes and cover the dimples with those, then you can roll "gangsta"!

So what happens if I buy my car in a state the doesn't require a plate, but live in one that does? The area I live in is less than an hour from 3 areas that require front tags and two that don't. MD/DC/VA require front tags, WV and PA don't. Not really viable...

For the record, I am required to have a front tag, but will take my chances on a ticket.
