To say the launch of the 2015 SRT Hellcat's was a tremendous success is an understatement. When you create a 707HP asphalt eating machine it is no surprise there would be a line out the virtual door to get one. The two brutes grabbed the brand more headlines than it had seen in......well....decades. Unfortunately the popularity lead to a host of ordering problems that left many frustrated. The numerous threads on Hellcat.ORG painted a picture of customers waiting in limbo for VIN's that came months later or some not at all. Thankfully those days are done....for some. We've been contacted by quite a few members still not knowing what is going on with their order. There are orders that were place in November of 2014 that are still not fulfilled, and the customers are still left wondering where their Hellcat's are.

We're not going to mix words here folks. If you ordered a 2015 and still haven't received a VIN you are pretty much screwed. Production is over and your order has been canceled. There is some OK news in all of this though. Hoping to make right with their past mistakes Dodge is going to more than double production for the 2016 model year, and you’ll be cordially invited to purchase a 2016 Hellcat.

The 2016 deal also involves the factory giving you a voucher for a 2015 car if you never received yours. Unfortunately, that’s factory pricing only. Meaning if you were price-gouged for your non-existent Hellcat by your dealer, you won’t suddenly be paying MSRP. From Automotive News:
I understand this isn't going to make the 900 or so customers suddenly happy and jumping for joy. Some may even become so upset they throw in the towel (once again understandable), but at this point the only way through this 2015 mess is for Dodge to make sure it doesn't happen for the 2016 model year. They have taken that step so kudos to them.

Sound off if your order was canceled and you are going to jump right back on the horse(power) for the 2016 model year.

I wonder how many will get the vouchers? I bet a hand full, still have to get a dealer willing to do it. So the voucher will give that dealer ability to get an extra car just for that specific person???

Wow. The hits keep on coming. Not only no roll-over but now folks need to wait for a magic voucher to arrive to order a MY2016 at the old price....or not wait for the voucher and deal with more dealer haggling. Man...

If it works like the Gen 5 Viper vouchers did, the invoice price of the car to the dealer is cut. The dealer has nothing to lose by taking the voucher. What will be interesting to see and is unclear is whether or not the voucher holder is tied to the dealer associated with the original VON or is free to shop around. I don't believe the voucher will give the dealer an extra car for a specific person---I think the dealer still has to have allocation. If that is not the case and it is good for an extra car at any dealer, then the voucher holder will be in the driver's seat as far as pricing goes. Can you say invoice or better? That was the case with the Viper vouchers for the 2003 model year.

And the entire time the site took a neutral stance ignoring the fact that 300 of it's members were getting screwed. Now at the end you want a reaction?

Good news for new buyers though. The whole supply/demand thing 2x production means a lot more Hellcats and a lot less gouging. MSRP a reality.
Maybe the 2016s will get improved radiators, stereos, and misc fixes.

I guess I don't really understand. I have a VIN but that doesn't mean anything now? If I get a voucher then I still have to convince my dealer to honor that voucher with one of their 2016 allocations?

If you have a VIN you have a car. 2015 Hellcat.

2x production, yes. Less gouging, I doubt it, at least not anytime in the foreseeable future.

If you are referring to what is mentioned in the 2016 Charger info thread, it is more of a "perk" than a feature, and applies to the 2016 Charger Hellcat only.
