I ordered my Hellcat Challenger the first day the order banks opened and my dealer agreed to sell it to me for invoice. I ordered it with the 8 speed automatic. As we know Dodge went to many dealers and asked us to change our order to manual transmission.

I was told that if I did not change my order I would probably not get a 2015 Hellcat and would be pushed back to 2016 model. So I cahnged my order to manual.

My dealer went to his rep today to get price protection on my car because invoice increased approximately $1,500 since I placed my original order. His rep said they cannot honor the price because I changed my order and had I not changed my order the price would have been protected.

My dealer was not happy and said he would do anything he could do if I could find out a way for him to get it done.

He said the best he could do is 1% below invoice.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to who I can contact to try to get Dodge to honor the price? I take delivery tomorrow.

CORRECTION WHEN I TOOK DELIVERY TODAY THE INVOICE PRICE REFLECTED THE ORIGINAL INVOICE PRICE FROM SEPTEMBER 09, SO DODGE DID PROTECT THE PRICE FOR ME. BOTH MY DEALER AND I WERE PLEASANTLY SURPRISED.

    Thanks!

I'd take 1% under invoice and run, you know how lucky you are?

Rob, you are already getting the best price for a HC in the history of mankind. Your dealer sounds awesome.

My dealer is great and I am taking the car, no doubt, but my dealer is also the one that advised me to see what I could find out. He feels I should get the original invoice price because Dodge asked me to change my order. Dodge is the one that does not want to honor the price, not my dealer.

Dodge would probably argue that they didn't ask you to change your order. Rather, they gave you the OPTION to change your order so you could get a car now instead of waiting for MY16. You may think this is semantics, but Dodge never had to call your dealer and say "you can switch to M6 and get a car now or wait for a 2016." They gave you the option. If you didn't take it, someone else would have.

You took the OPTION to change to an M6 and, correspondingly, do not have price protection. I don't think you have any leverage with FCA. If your dealer is willing to help absorb the increase in price by going from selling at invoice to selling at 1% below invoice.....again, take the car and run. ;)

There have been some price increases since day 1 for Canadian orders. Even though these orders have not been changed, they still have to pay the increased price.

I don't know how price protect works in the U.S.in Canada u get price protect when the car hits D status.when I ordered my charger the price was $73,425 when it hit D the price was $76,635 and had a price protect.when the car came the price was 78,735 on the sticker.there is a code beside your price protect that needs to be entered into the computer within two days of the car hitting the dealer and the customer only has 10 days to pick it up.so FCA can do what they want be fore the plant accepts the order and gives it a vin.i got the protected price of $76635.the dealer tried to get the original price on the POC and I was told the rep pretty much laughed at them here is a pic of what these class look like in Canada and how they show up on your sheet image.jpg
