had a dealer try this new one on me today

the car has a low vin #...it was one of the first HC's produced...so its worth more?

i laughed and said its the opposite....id rather have a late production # with all the bugs figured out

do any of you think low production # is worth more?

(i bought a #'d gun once and the guy who had #69 was asking $1,000 more for it-----i dont think he ever got it)

I would think if they were a limited production car,, but there not,, there going to build until they stop selling..I think the dealer is feeding you a line of bs to get more money out of you

the guys who bought IE's thought having a # under 100 meant something...i remember being excited seeing my IE being one of the first produced....then it sat for 2 weeks in stickers while others shipped.....i should have been #20, but ended up being #126....then i found out the loose seats were # under #500....so i bought #605

some people look for any advantage of their car over others....ill bet that tactic of saying its a low vin # works on lots of people...i just found it odd/funny

According to RS, mine is build # 21. While probably not worth anymore, it did get a special name. BlackJack.

I'd say unless it's serial number 1, or maybe #707 in the case of the Hellcat, it's just trivia, not a true value-adder...

yeah dealer was yanking your chain..

2012-03-16_14-38-30_901.jpg There is only a handful of modern mopars that will increase in value and all ten have special vin numbers. I own number one of 10 ever built copo challengers aka Kowalski Edition...Those 10 Cars built buy Dodge will go down in history in decades to come.
Other than that all bets are off there are big numbers for these cars out there compared to 45 years ago. Just drive it or someone else will ...

this is one of those...eyes of the beholder moment! It means something to me that my car was the 99th Hellcat built specially for me...no one else is going to give two spits. Of course, I spent my daughters college fund so, I will have it for a looooooonnnggggg time! :D J/K. She still gets to go, I am going to rent her room out to make my car payment. Lol:)
