Hopefully I've been able to figure out how to load a short video.
About a week ago sitting in traffic I could hear what sounded like a noisy pulley bearing.
It sounds like it is coming from the Supercharger.
My good friend and mechanic Brian is off to SEMA next week so we will have to sort this out when he comes back.
Almost sounds to me like I have an air leak as well.
Be interested to hear your thoughts on this

That does sound awful. I cringe hearing mechanical failures occurring. Hope all turns out o.k. for you.

Lord Hellcat, it does sound troublesome and probably worth sitting her down until your trusted mechanic returns from Vegas. I'm sure that's not want you want to hear, but it's a conservative approach I would take in your shoes. Best of luck diagnosing and fixing an imbuggerance.

Probably not what you want to hear, but bring it to the dealer for warranty.

Have you considered removing the blower belt and starting it to see if the noise goes away?

I was looking on Steve White parts to see if the pulley is available separately. Doesn't look like it yet but definitely worth checking out.

It would be nice if you had a defective idler pulley. That would be a cheap part swap.. I'd definitely pull the belt and start it. At least then you know if it's one of the pulleys or not.

    WoW,
I would have no idea, I had a video from the same area of your engine that I posted on youtube for a catch can issue but as you can tell I don't have that noise. I also notice in you video your catch can hoses look not as collapsed as mine do. I removed my can as I don't trust the hoses. Sorry, Im getting off topic.
( not that my video will help but IF you need something to compare)

I know when I buy my used cop cars I change out the belt tensioner on most as the excessive idling the cops do with the heat damages that tensioner and it becomes noisy but thats at like 100K miles but guess it could go bad early? I would have it checked out ASAP . Good luck tracking it down. Best catch it before something goes

Lord Hellcat How many miles (or should I say km) do you have on your car now?

He does not have a warranty. He is in the UK and FCA does not honor warranties on cars out of the country.

Not disagreeing with you; but could never figure out how a manufacturer can get away with that if the car was bought new or warranty was properly transferred to the new owner. Then again I figure it's B.S. that we don't get the same warranty as our U.S. cousins... When the friggen car is built here!!! So much for NAFTA...

I agree with you, especially since Fiat owns Dodge/Jeep/RAM/Chrysler now, and we know that there are Fiat dealerships in the UK. But, that's the way it is, unfortunately. I also agree that it is total BS that the Canada cars do not have the same warranty. I do not feel it is right, or legal, either.

Just over 3800 miles. We still use mph here and the car came from the US. Not sure if the car would even start without the Supercharger belt attached. But when you kill the ignition you hear the noise run on for a brief moment that would also help point the problem towards a Supercharger issue.
I also agree that I should park it up and wait for Brian to get back from SEMA. Just hoping it is the bearing in the Supercharger snout and nothing more serious.

Mine doesn't sound as bad as the video but it did start making a new noise today. Only 440 miles on it...
