When Hot Rod Magazine tested the Hellcat they felt the best setup for drag racing was the following:
    Power: 700+
    Transmission: Track
    Paddles: Off
    Traction: Sport
    Suspension: Street
I can understand the rest of it, but with the A8 in auto why would it be preferable to have the paddle shifter setting off?
Also, if you want to start in second gear would you have the sifter in manual, shift at redline with the paddle shifter and as the engine is accelerating in 3rd move the shifter to auto mode?

When they say paddles off im assuming they mean just leave the car in drive and let it shift on its own

Ok, so yes with STOCK TIRES I agree with you, and I'll do just that in the measured mile in July.
