Thinking of getting some drs for everyday use. Rather than go through hundreds of threads what's the general consensus of brand/size that works for these cars? I'm thinking Nitto NT05r or 555r (not sure of the difference) at 305/35. Will that size fit the fender well? I know Nittos tend to run small. Thanks for any assistance

I decided on Mickey Thompson 275-40-20 Street Comps which have similar diameter and are almost 1" wider than the factory standard all season tires and .50 " wider than the optional summer tire.
REAL nice looking tire that's excellent on wet roads and extremely quiet; however, not a full drag radial, but slightly better traction than the Pirelli summer tire.

I went with the Nitto NT05 315/35 Awesome tires, great in rain, 11.2 et's on prepted track. Could go with the 335/35 if you make modifications to the plastic wheel well. These sizes work with the Charger, don't know about the Challenger. Hope this helps

Problem being the 305's are not made to be mounted on a wheel of less than 10" width like the stock Hellcat rears. Did you guys buy the aftermarket duplicates in 10's?

Thanks for the replies. I know the Charger will take a fatter tire than the Challenger. I think 305's are about the limit for the 9.5" stock wheels.

I ran the 305 555r's on the stock rims last summer the were okay still spun with them. I was thinking of 315's for next year.

nope, they fit fine on the stock rims, just have to find someone willing to put them on, Discount Tire has turned down a lot of people due to the size difference. I found a guy at Firestone to do it.

Joe: You saw my Cat, I have the 555Rs out back in a 305/35 and they fit fine. I'm running the street 555s up front in a 275/35. All with the stock rims.

Are you going to C&C this weekend? If so, I'll show up so you can check sizing and fit.

Thank Rob! Yes I'll be there Sat. You can check out my new cat. Who did your mounting? I'm thinking of going to Discount tire they've always done me right on price and never scratched a rim

I had mine mounted at my dealership with nitrogen instead of just air. One of my techs used to manage a Discount tire and he's a pro at it.

Good to know. I went down to 24 lbs and they slipped a bit before grabbing like hell.

The 17 is for a specific reason. That was the proper air pressure shown to get the tire to widen for the maximum contact patch. There was a group of guys that specifically looked for what it took to provide that and that was the correct number. They literally got at ground level and looked at the contact patch as they let air out. It worked.
