I was curious as to whether the '16 Hellcat autos like I have purchased use the same part number driveshaft as the '15's ? From what I understand they MAY have changed that part number. Can anyone verify ?
I searched Hellcat driveshafts online and it is rather difficult to get through some of the Mopar parts lookups but came up with this for the '15s.
    Thanks.

EDIT this part number was incorrect so I removed it

I haven't heard of any changes. I also bought a 16 and seems like that would have been big news on the forum. Should be able to crawl under there and compare that part number to the one on your vehicle

I won't be able to get at it for a while to see. My dealer buddy sent me an email saying the part numbers are different as well but I am not convinced yet.
I really would rather keep the car stock but plan on using drag radials for the track, and it would be a bummer to corkscrew the shaft and beat up the tunnel.

OK...according to my parts guy at the Dodge dealer, the original '15
shaft was a 53010678AD and changed to a AE at some point during the
'15 build, and the documentation states that it can only be used on a '15.
    No clue as to why.

Now...he went on to say the '16 shaft is an AG and according to the
    book would work on a '15 or a '16.
He also went on to say that the change could be because of a number
of reasons...painted vs not painted....vendor change, etc. He does
not know what the differences would be and that would be a question
for engineering if anyone out there has any connections.

    Thanks.

It will be interesting to see if any A8 '16's corkscrew the shaft with stock, or near stock setups. IE: tune, drag radials....

Many years ago I bought a 87 Grand National with low miles broke a drive shaft and flipped the car, the roof was caved in and the floor pan was a mess. The engine and trans was ok but the frame and everything was twisted even though the doors still shut pretty good with the windows down. Bottom line is I would think it's risky business after a season on D/R at the track.

I have a 1 piece shaft in my '09 Dodge and a loop in the front of it. Can these only be installed in the front or is there a way to get one in the rear as well ? I am thinking the exhaust system might help keep it from dropping out,

Every time I get a part number and go to order from my dealer Mopar seems to have changed the part number. I have seen parts change numbers several times during a model year.

The 2016 cars twist the shaft also, I had a non member call me asking about aftermarket which I believe he used the DSS unit to replace the broken OEM shaft.
