Took the new cat out last night and had my Redwing work boots on. That sure was a PITA trying to let the clutch out with those things on. I don't know what exactly it is, but the angle by foot is at when letting out the clutch really makes my boot bind up against the pedal. Makes it reaallly tough to let the clutch out slow. Won't be doing that again.

I had the same problem when I tried to drive my 15 m6 with my snow skies on. Won't do that again.

Did you have tire chains on as well? Because that can cause some difficulties too...

I cannot comprehend getting into my car with the dirty nasty boots I wear on my site. Never take Cat to my site but even with commuter car boots come off and go in plastic bin. Have slip on Mocs for driving home.

I have size 13's and with my light hiking boots on I can still drive, but I bet with my Danner super rain forests on it would be a bummer.
As a note, I hate the small dead pedal in the M6 cars its like 2.5" wide or something I'm always cramming my left foot onto it when on the track and have actually considered modding the kick panel for some extra clearance there, you cant extend it towards the clutch pedal, with a plate welded to the floor pan or something or you'd hit it when pushing the clutch in but some more space to the left of it would be nice.
Also heel toeing this car for downshifts is not something I can do, the brake pedal is much higher than the gas pedal, it would be nice if the car rev matched on downshifts, braking and downshifting at the same time at the last second before a corner doesn't leave time to blip the throttle with the right foot, at least at my low, low, skill level.

I hear ya, my boots are perfectly clean as I fly a desk most of the time. I mostly just wear em for ankle support.

I'm a 13 also, and you're right about the brake. Took me a few days to get used to gently grazing the brake pedal to stop.

I drove my car last night for a cruise with family. I wore sandals and that's a bad idea. Never again

That's either the saddest thing I've ever read on the forum, or the funniest. I'm leaning towards saddest though.

Funny you mention driving with work boots...I tried a few times driving my new 16 HC, M6 with my boots on and it sucks...your boot catches the brake pedal more often than not.
I now change into sneakers before heading home from work, not worth the aggravation.
Guess it's not just me, I feel your pain!

Haha I thought I was the only one that would do this. I have a favorite pair of shoes I like to drive in so if I have to wear some other shoes I'll take the others along to change into for the drive. :)
