I have a 2015 Charger Scat pack that I am basically converting into a full SRT 392. SRT features are enabled, active suspension is on the way, 6 piston Brembo's on order and Hellcat wheels are installed. When customizing the settings in the car, ECO mode is now enabled. However I swore I read that on a real SRT, ECO starts in 2nd gear all the time? Can someone confirm this? Mine still starts in 1st gear, though ECO mode is enabled, MDS is much more assertive and the throttle is much less sensitive.

You can confirm by placing your car in ECO, enabling the gear position indicator in the EVIC and then coming to a full stop after driving love five complete seconds.

Thanks for the info. Nothing wrong with ECO when you're just daily driving around town. :)

I will admit I don't use ECO much, but this has to do with getting the settings right when reprogramming the car for proper operation.

I honestly drive eco-mode 90%+ of the time. I am on highway or country roads at a constant speed. When I want to hammer the gas to hear her open up, I'll switch... but might as well save some bucks at the pump since this is my DD. The only noticeable difference is that the trans shifts are not firm like sport/track, and it shifts a lot sooner - easily defeatable if you hit the gas. It starts in 2nd gear when ECO is enabled. 1st gear in my car is still nearly brand new!

unixadm how did you go about enabling the SRT functions? Would love to hear about the details of the work you are doing.

To get the base SRT functions, I used a "Tazer" from Zautotech.com. This device plugs into the OBD2 port and can make some changes in the body control module. It also gives some other features, like Line Lock, Lightshow, etc. However it changed the EVIC to that of an SRT (fonts and features), gave me SRT Performance Pages, SRT Drive Modes, etc. For certain functions it needs to be plugged in, but for settings changes related to SRT it does not. The developer is looking at the Active Damping settings and I am attempting to work with him (side project) where he can enable the functions in the BCM after I add the control module, sensors and a new harness. I picked up a complete Active Damper system from a wrecked 2015 SRT 392. Dampers, Springs, all harness connections, control module, three accelerometer sensors, etc. I will first attempt to get the ECU connected up to the vehicle's CAN-BUS (C) system and if we can get it to operate via the 8.4 screen, then I will move forward with building a new custom harness using the pigtails from the donor car.

The adjustments have a few bugs in them that need sorting, but progress is being made. I also bought the 6 piston Brembo's from the same car and the SRT steering wheel. I need to find an Air Bag and if the active damper suspension works out, it will essentially be a full on SRT. This wasn't my original plan (since I was buying a Hellcat), but I love a good project. :)
