Challenger Hellcat M6 550 miles. The engine has a very loud and inconsistent (not every cylinder) tick when cold. Once warm it quiets down to a more normal/even ticking that I understand is common for these engines. No CEL, no power issues. Has anyone else noticed this or should I be concerned?

Worst case scenario, it could be a bad rocker arm. I had a very similiar situation occur on my 2012 392.

Have no operational problems with the car. Are you saying the rocker arm got noisier before it broke?

Until the car is warm. Not like a lifter pumping up after a long period of storage.

I notice mine ticking at first start-up but it sounds more like it's on the drivers side down low. Dealer said it's normal.

Normal - that's called the "Hemi Tick". You'll have a problem if it sounds more like "clang"

Best way I can describe it.

But it's not a "real" Hemi.

So true. But that's the shtick it's been stuck with. They all do it. Think a real Hemi would be more of a plap..

LoL. This thread is getting silly. It's normal dudes - drive it like you stole it.

That is the sound of a bad a$$ real meaty muscle car just warming up and getting its juices flowing so it can tear up the streets! Long time trade mark of the Hemi engine is that slight ticking noise at start. Never been a problem and just makes me proud to own one of the baddest beasts around. If you continue to notice a tick or it gets louder after it has ran a while, then I would worry. :)

Its fine. Cars like this with a belt driven supercharger will sometimes make ticking noises, which are totally normal. Could be injectors or just a loud valvetrain.
