On my cat I have two random looking stickers. One placed on the outside of the front windshield just below the sight window for the VIN plate and another in the driver's side door jam

    Sticker says "Engines for Life".

Is this something on all the cats?

If it's like anything we do at our dealership it's a program ran by the BG company. Basically if you use thier MOA oil additive at every oil change they will offer an extended warranty on your motor if it every fails.....for life they claim.

The program has been out for about a year now....I have yet to see a car come in and attempt to make a claim on this program though so I can't comment on how much they pay out or how easy the process is.

It's such a new program (at my place at least) it will be a couple years once cars get out of warranty to see if this program stands it grounds. I would imagine you will have to prove with receipts every single oil change and MOA additive for the entire life of the vehicle....keep good records.

I didn't purchase this "addition" so I have no idea what it is. I will have to contact my salesperson and ask what it is.
    Thanks.

You didn't purchase. It's a sales gimmick. All new cars at my dealership get that sticker.

He is how this will go. When you go in for your first oil change they are going to try to sell you the BG MOA oil additive. When you decline they will play the card of "well you will no longer be covered under the engines for life program anymore if you do not buy this additive". Plan and simple is a sales gimmick for BG.

Note - just becuase you have that sticker does not mean that the MOA was added during the PDI process. WE do not add that...other dealers may add the MOA as the PDI process. BG doesnt state that additive has to be in since day one...they have a certain mileage grace period. Also if they did add that MOA on the PDI process don't freak out and demand an oil change ASAP. This additive will do NO HARM WHAT SO EVER....but having any actualy benifits or helps well that is up for debate lol.

Being a tech at a dealership I can see how this tactic can upset a customer I for one don't really agree with the practice. But in BG's defense I have fixed a lot of cars under the BG warranty for other issues like coolant leaks and power steering issues with no cost to the customer cause they kept up on their "BG fluid exchange programs". I just don't know how this engines for life claim will work. Like stated I have yet to run into a car that we needed to make a claim on.
