I'm still learning this car (and cars in general) and I admit that I don't know jack. So this guy in my parking garage has a 2014 shaker (looks really good by the way). He told me that I need to put dumps in the exhaust of my hellcat as it'll add some horsepower and make it sound louder.

I told him, that I need to check, but I'm pretty sure the Hellcat has some electronic exhaust controls that already does what he is implying.

Can you smarter guys fill me in here? Thanks so much.

Your right, we have flaps in our exhaust , that being said, you could put in a cut out before the flapper......I for one would like to see someone with a hellcat challenger A8 do a muffler delete

I am going to do a delete on an HC M6, just waiting to get into the shop, may be a couple of weeks, as the guy is super busy. We are going to test, so will make it reversible

Z don't do anything unless the car gains something at the track, not a dyno, the track. Loud like some Mustangs is a cop magnet and in reality my one car with open headers which sounds sweet you can't hear anything at WOT i.e you hit some rock in the road, engine knock(god forbid). Erase what you heard and be happy with what you have.

I actually don't plan on doing much to my car for a while, I'm just trying to learn so that when I do do (lol do do) I actually know what I'm talking about.

Plus those electric cutouts can, and usually do leak in time. IMO it is not a productive expenditure of your mod funds

Isn't there a thread on dumps that u lose power and not gain ? I would love dumps but am waiting to see what the solo exhaust and a few others sound like first.

Yo Zebug: Putting "dumps" on your Cat is a no no. Why, you have a blower engine, putting dumps on the exhaust could cause the engine to "lean out" this could cause a whole bunch of things that go bump & bang $$$$$$$ don't do it! Just say no.
