Has anybody considered or done any research about getting an aftermarket exhaust? I love how loud the hellcat is stock, but I want louder. I've been thinking about replacing the mufflers with straight pipes, but want to get everybody opinions before I decide.

Does Zoomers have anything yet? They sound great on Challengers but are really loud!
I would consider a full system, only problem is you need a custom tune and I doubt they have a good one yet.

I would be very concerned about under the hood temperature running headers,, dodge put double insulated manifolds on the hellcat to keep the heat down

I would go "CAT" back full system no headers

While I plan on keeping my 'Cat stock, I can see where there might be a solid advantage from a "race only" exhaust.

Removing the Cat's cats would *possibly* soften some of the instant low end torque (which it could probably use on the street, and even the track) in favor of more mid-top power, but should see a pretty positive reduction in under hood temperatures b/c cats are basically huge heat sinks.

    Just speculating here though.

Except the cats are nowhere near the engine bay. Why would their removal lower engine bay temps?

Heat soak and buildup, especially when stopped. As the exhaust flows through, it stops and gets extremely hot-which cats are supposed to do and heat rises also into the footwells and pax compartment and conducts to the manifolds, which in turn heats up the engine and underhood. I see there are no "pre heater" cats, so it probably is not as bad as I once thought (some cars have four cats, and some six I think?)

Again they designed this beast to be as cool as it can be, and of course meet super stringent emissions. I just wonder if there are any gains.
