I've saw lots of crazy fast A8 cars on this forum and love them. In fact, I've always preferred straight shift cars over automatic cars. When the Hellcats came out I decided that it was time to try a "two pedal" hot rod. I love it but I'm thinking that I may pick up another one and have an M6 as my "daily" and build my current A8 to race.

So for those of you that have the bolt action rides, what are you doing to make them faster, what's breaking and not breaking, what are the "fixes" for the weak links and how fast are they going?

Maybe I've lost my mind and no one is hot rodding the M6 cars or maybe I've just not looked at the right threads????

11,000 miles and only 2 minor issues.. not worth discusssing.
I drive it as if stolen daily and I'm undefeated in heads up competition...

    enjoy!

Thanks for the post (that was quick)

Have you been running drag radials/slicks or some other type of tires?

no--original Pirelli's which have done very well. traction is an issue but I sort of enjoy that part.. Next set of tires will be 305's or 295's.. not an issue to me though.

I love the car and I've owned virtually all high performance cars built and had alot of wheel time in everything from Ferrari to Porsche to ZR1 and everything in between.. it's a very desireable car in direct comparison to anything I've been in. It's a great daily driver in default mode and a beast in TRACK mode..

Several of us running 10.6-10.7. Dealing with trying to get more seat time, due to weather, parts failures etc. Had awesome weather tonight and sticky track, broke something. A low 10 would have been possible. I went 10.7 at 137 with alot of wheel spin yet.

AGREED!!!! I'm hoping that 007 will chime in. He and his son are the only two members of this forum that I've meet in person (because of this forum). They were both super nice guys. 007's son has the very first, and one of only three
Charger Hellcat's that I've ever saw in person. That thing in WICKED. It sounds like "Days of Thunder"!!!

Chime in 007, we all know that you're car is crazy fast, the secret is out of the bag!:D

M6s are going to surpass A8 records...just you watch.

At the moment as far as M6 specific parts go, there are 2 upgrades that come to mind. The Bad Boys Garage clutch and the barton shifter. I like the stock shifter so I have been holding back on the barton.

i have the BAD BOYZZ GARAGE clutch and the Barton. i liked the stock feel as well, and was nervous it would not be as nice, but i can confirm that the Barton short throw is soooooo buttery. i like it more. i am pretty picky man. my new clutch is now broken in, i may be going to the track test and tune tonight.. stand by for slips and pics. o_O
