I was coerced into my HellCat purchase a few weeks ago now. Went in for a free oil change on my 2500 and my friend in sales (friend???) started running numbers. I had a 2012 R/T with less than 3900 miles on it and was able to unload it for the down payment on the HC. Brought it home, waited for my rock guards to come in, and then drove it for the first time really a few days later. I was amazed at how big my smile was, and I wasn't even getting on it. It just felt like it was waiting to go.

Since then I've broken over 300 miles and have had a few giggle fits at the sheer beast that this thing is. I haven't beat it too hard but I haven't been following the strict break in procedure to a T, though I have kept my speed down to the 80's. Not too much rubber missing yet, although I did get a little sideways the other night.

This is my first real performance car, the R/T was nice but obviously this is a different class entirely. Am I the only one who wonders how the hell I'm going to keep my license with this car??

Anyway, love this forum, glad to drink up the knowledge!

Congrats and Welcome! Guess my advice would be......Try and locate the nearest tracks to you. That way you can start to really dip into the power....without fearing a trip to jail:).

If you're from Minnesota...We've got a great facility up at BIR....1/4 mile drags two Wednesday evenings a month and we've got HPDE driving on both road courses. Also have a nice 1/8 mile drag strip in Grove City....called Grove Creek. And there are probably others that I can't think of right now.
