So I have had my cat for less than a week and have 450 miles on her. So far I love, love, love it! But what I am noticing is that most other "fast" cars want nothing to do with you once they see the HC badge and in fact wont even look at you (camaros, mustangs, etc.) It's like your not even there! Case in point tonight I had a highly modded Supra out showing off, keep in mind I know they can be stupid fast, but I figured why not my car is stupid fast. I rolled up next to them and they just fell back then took a side street. Seriously? You were just melting your tires at the last light what's up? Anyway I'm kind of surprised how many just fall back or don't want you to pull up along side them. They look, see the HC badge and look straight ahead. Now as for the cars that are not fast they love the cat. She is a rock start and that part is fun! I am also finding that the A8 is stupid fast at shifting. I have never experienced anything like it. Just pull the paddle and your in the next gear faster than you can blink! And the power, my god the power! I have had my ass pucker up a couple times because you need to drive it like a motorcycle. LOOK AHEAD! I will get some good pics up this weekend. ;)

Oh yes they will....I'll be ready. What is the best setting that you have found for hooking up on the street on a "cool" tire? Using launch control?

    Grats on your ride!

I just run mine in street mode most the time and roll into the throttle...can't floor it, that's for sure. Practice a lot by yourself and really get a good feel for when it wants to break loose. After some practice you will know how hard you can push it:). The A8 is awesome and very controllable once you know it well.

You don't want to mess around with launch control on the street..

    Enjoy and be safe!

Thanks! I have already noticed that you can pull another gear to pull out of the tire spin pretty quick. I'm in a pretty small town but I know there are some fast rides. But I'm always safe on the street. Too many LEO friends that will have my ass if I get into trouble. Right Deputydog! Hehe!

I'm guessing it's like this at a lot of places. They seem eager when they see the SRT at the rear but when they pull up to side and see the HC badge, it's like they already lost. Only one Mustang tried me in the 4 months she's been on the road.

Never that lucky. Would love a V or GTR. I get called out by the Honda and Toyota crowd a lot. Don't feel like playing with 1000 lb cars with electric turbos.

I had 15 Camaro convertible following me the other day on the highway, I would pass, someone, if he could not get by, he would wait and then come up on me like a BOH, this went on for about 20 miles. I don't think he knew I was an HC, until I slowed down and let him pass, once he saw the Cat head, he took off, I went after him and no way could he pull away, boy was his car stinking :) I just pulled up beside him and laughed, then backed off and let him go.
5 miles up the road, I see it, the red/blues....he got nailed, i assume for speeding...hahaha. Blew the horn and waived as I went by.

I have noticed the same.... C7s, Mustangs, Porsches (even a 911 Turbo S), AMG's. No one wants any.

As far as what mode to be in? Keep the tranny in track mode for the fastest shifts and the traction in street. Suspension in sport or street. I have noticed this will give the best results.

Track mode traction allows you to spin on the street and I would normally get some good wheel hop and I had to back out of it.

    Happy hunting!
