Crossed over 500 miles on a short trip to Dallas. What a solid and nice driving vehicle. 90 MPH cruising speed very comfortable. Accelerations easily topped 100 with casual application of throttle. Wife had to keep reminding me to slow down. Everybody that's looked at it is impressed with its features and fit and finish. The radio and vehicle interface system is very intuitive. Love the favorite artist feature! I just could not be more pleased. So far I've run thru three tanks of gas averaging high teens to low 20's. Several burnout demos and acceleration burst to make sure it's rings are seated. Air to fuel ratio seems rich but that keeps the Hellcat purring. Added 1/2 quart of oil at 300 miles. My other driver is an Audi A8L with the 4.0T engine so the Challenger is being compared to a pretty high standard.

Normal to burn 1/2 quart oil at 300 miles?

On a new engine, yes it can happen. It's even mentioned in the owners manual that oil level should be checked at each gas fill up during the break-in period and that it may require more oil than normal at first.

Nope, mine has been quiet. My CTS-V had a loud rear end and by 7500 miles the rear end needed to be replaced as it was just eating itself alive. Try to avoid any wheel hop as it is much more likely to cause problems early on...

I'm only has 200 miles,, so I will get a few more hundred on it, and when I go to get my spoiler replaced, I will have it looked into...Maybe they will have to change the ring and pinion and put in a set of 3.73... nice.

Hellcat1, what's wrong with your spoiler? Damaged in transit?

Yes, the front spoiler has a scrape in it that the gm brought to my attention when I picked the car up,, that and there is two spots on the paint that need to be cleaned...other then that..really no issues...well could be a little faster,, but that's what the after market is for..;)

So sorry about the damage, but at least you have it and have been able to drive it....We saw one delivered a few weeks ago that had quite a bit of damage, I guess what do you expect when they are delivered in open trailers, in Michigan, in the winter... We are hopeful to get our kid mid-January and then have it delivered to the house via enclosed trailer.
