Well I've had my Cat a little over a month and put about 1500 miles on her. Made it out to Albuquerque Dragway today and my best run was 12.3 at 121 on stock tires . The temp was 68 deg and DA at 6834ft. My sixty foot was 2.1 sec. So I know my drag radials will help when I get out there next week. I was a little disappointed, my boost never got above 8 lbs and horse power maxed out st 569 .

I would say 'bravo' to those numbers! Only 8lbs of boost, on stock tires, and your first time? I think you did excellent!

Those DRs will bring down that 60' time big time.

The big question is did you have fun? Because that's what it's all about. Do you have any pictures to share?

i think you did good also

my 1st time w/ nitto's was 11.8...that was without a burnout and with full TC on (i think in street mode)
the more i messed around the worse my times got...i was into the low 12's for many of the runs

by my 3rd time at the track i was down to 11.2.......takes time to learn how to do a burnout correctly for your tires and get staged quickly afterwards while the tires are still heated

im hoping to get into the 10's next trip this Spring

im assuming you have an A8 right?

if you have a M6 i think your really doing well for 1st time at the track

Yes, I have the A8 but it's not my first time at the track ......just with this car. I've been racing for years so I'm no rookie in that regard . Granted I feathered the gas on green so I wouldn't spin but I just thought I would get a little more HP out of her. I'm a little disappointed more because it's only March so the DA is just going to get worse. Next week with my drag radials I should run a 11.8 or so , I'm going to have to do something to get my boost up to around 12-13 . I would love to run high 10's like many do on the east coast.

Altitude is killing you, to run high 10's you will probably need a pulley and tune.

Yup, I will most likely go with the metco 2.85 and a hhp tune. Though I might wait a little while to not void my warranty.

You did well. Get to know the car and your times will improve for sure.

Don't be too anxious to come to the east cost. Cost of living sucks and the weather sucks even more LOL.

What a rush doing that the first time. Your numbers are decent for first time runs.

elevation sucks welcome to my reality. good job though metco will give you 3-4 lbs and you wont need to tune.

A few here have mentioned I could install a 2.85 with no tune but I'm a little scared to attempt it.

What elevation do you race at? I'm seriously thinking of doing the PCM swap with a tune, it's worth at least 30 hp if not more. Just trying to get the most hp I can for now.

The 121 mph is actually pretty darn good for that altitude. Get those DR's and get the 60's down even into the 1.7's and that will be worth over half a sec in ET

quarter mile run-2.jpg Have not made it to a track yet but finally had a chance to do a 1/4 mile run, did two and this was 2nd try. Definitely need to practice controlling wheel spin on take off and am sure I can get under 12.0, but proud of my reaction time though. Want to make a trip to the track soon so I can try some different combinations traction, transmission and suspension and see what works best. If anyone has any tips on what they think the best combo is would appreciate it

Got the DR's installed and ready for Saturday, I think if I hook I can run an 11.7.
