Biggest problem with Fontana is the drag strip runs uphill, so on most other drag strips you'll have a faster time than at Fontana. Years ago when the drag strip was on the other side of the facility and you could run better times than you can now.....but you'd run westward (you run eastward now), and that meant staring at the sun as it set.
But Autoclub should of made the drag strip level when they moved it to the other side.

Does Fontana get busy? Looked like it was a nice day there.

It can get busy but 6 passes should be easy on the busiest day. I've gotten 23 passes in one day. Had to quit or run out of gas.

    23 passes in one day??!!!

I've been to drag strips hundreds of times, but I don't think I've ever done more than 5-6 passes in any one day. If after the 4th or 5th pass my times are improving, i know I've done my best that day with that weather, on that track.

Unless you are making constant ECU tuning, or testing something, or making other changes on that day, why would you feel the need to run 23 passes in one day?
So curious what you were doing or why you needed to make 23 passes in one day?

Holly crap!!! I want to move there. Sound/ looks like an awesome track (house of hook?)!!! Our street legal races have between 200-300 cars at each race. We are lucky to get 4 passes in a 5-6 hour day.
I prefer to do track rentals with 10-20 cars max (cost $5000 for 1 lane full prep). It sucks in Canada cause our local track is 6 miles from my place, next closest is 80 miles, the next is 400 miles, then 1100 miles..... :(

I'm curious as to why your so concerned with how many passes I do? It's my time and money. Maybe I'm just more detailed than you care. There are dozens of parameters to improve upon in any one session. With the limited track time available I'm going to get as many passes in as I can. I don't have the luxury of going every weekend or even once a month. 60' times, shift points, tree timing, etc. are just a fraction of the parameters one can work on. Additionally the more passes I get in the more baseline data I have.

Next time I'll target 30 passes having fun the entire time. I hope that doesn't upset you.
