    what fuel do I use????

so as I have had and still have SRT vehicles I have always used premium fuel......so I get to the gas pump and start pumping premium fuel....close the fuel door and on my way home...car is in the garage with less then 100 miles on it. So sitting there watching TV and dreaming about doing donuts in the car I realize there was NOTHING on the car that said to use premium fuel...so I go look....NOTHING......on the cap under the fuel door......NOTHING.

SO what fuel do I use????

I have spoken with 2 tech and I trust both.....both have worked on my vehicles and I don't let just anyone touch my vehicles.......
1 tech answers.....use regular because of the compression ration is lower it does not need premium fuel.
other tech answers.....its an SRT yes use premium fuel.

    what do you guys say????

The manual says minimum 91 octane. I only use Shell or Chevron, but that is a preference not required. My tech had recommended that brand some time ago and I stick with it! ;)

Good, because 91 octane is the highest we have here for the last 4-5 years or so, ever since gas went to almost $5/gal. Now that it's cheap, they haven't brought it (93) back...wish they would. Or come up with more E85 stations, but that would require the ECM being cracked and retuned. I'm just happy it will run on 91.

Higher octane won't hurt. Can be a waste of money if it's not needed. Extra octane does nothing. You only need enough octane to prevent spark knock. In the future, when the ECM is cracked and we start using smaller pulleys, more boost, larger superchargers, etc., then higher octane will be needed.

Seems like I learned a few years ago, that AvGas has a slower burn rate than regular automotive fuel, so it's not ideal for racing, like actual race gas (VP, Rockett, Sunoco, etc.)?

I remember learning that also.....plus I believe AvGas is designed to run at a more consistent RPM
