Maybe this has been addressed here before but I couldn't find it ...

Is there a mileage where our cars are at full power?
I know at 500 miles you get the launch control....
I hear some people say at 500 miles you will notice a difference, then at 1000 miles and then at 2000 miles.
Any truth to this? Is the computer holding back? Letting the car break in and giving the driver time to learn the car?

Nope, potential is at 100% at delivery. Handle with care unless you have driven something like it.

Launch control is the only thing that becomes available at 500 miles from what ive been told. Everything else is good right out of the gate.

Maybe people want to think it gets quicker?
A friend of mine bought a 15HC ... said he wasn't impressed with it when he bought it. Now after 2500 miles he claims its a completely different car ...

You figured it out...nobody knows for sure...any answer is speculation...many have said over the years their car would "come alive" at X miles but never has there been any empirical proof....

Broke it in like a race motor; full power from day one. However, I didn't launch the car hard or shift aggressively. But up to red line and back down - engine braking - is healthy.

You have the correct reply above, that is why there are not additional replies. It is not guess work, other than Launch Control, see my post above. No imagination, no BS you can go out from the dealer and have 100% of available power.

I went to the track at 900 miles and ran mid 11's, so I would say it was all there.:D

100% upon delivery at mile 1. All dyno work at SRT (45+ mins on the engine dyno with WOT) is done before the engine is put in the car, full power is recognized at this point.

Launch control turns on at 500 miles.

At around 5000 miles or so, the exhaust fully breaks in and the sound deepens a little bit.

Went to the track at 500 miles with drag radials and ran 10.89 first night. Second night ran 10.85 and ran several of them during the year. Then when the air cooled went 10.73, not because the car opened up.
