Dodge SRT Hellcats And HEMIs Could Die In 2019
This was in the comments...
This "rumor" came from the same guy who has been leaking 100% accurate information on the Hellcat LONG before it was even announced. He has been providing solid info for years and I didnt believe it until I just read it.
"RIP 6.2/6.4 Hemi" - Resumespeed
Ummm...same guy I presume.
In the mid eighties V8s were anemic due to similar Federal regulations. Buick solved the problem. Ecoboost is headed that way now. A good Turbo motor could be just a potent as a Hemi. I grew up in the sixties with the original Hemi, it will be missed but time marches on!
The more things change the more they stay the same.
If you want to see the future look at the past
If you think ADM's were high this year, wait until the end of 2018 when Hellcats become extinct.
Nobody is a fortune teller, who knows maybe some dumb third world country will blow us up before then???????? Enjoy your cars now.
Or worse yet have a stroke
Already discussed in this thread... I have a $5 bet that the article will be wrong... I'll come here at the end of 2018 and eat crow or dance the jig
2018 is this the last year for Hellcats & Hemi's? | SRT Hellcat Forum
More than likely HEMI will stay and be re-done to move onwards with future technologies such as hybrid or electric etc
Those of us who witnessed, testify...
the elation of the 60's horsepower wars...so many choices! Wicked cars ruled the streets, you'd see them everywhere. Hemi's, Cobra Jets, Max Wedge, 426, 427,428,429...my god man, what a time! I was too young to drive but had pictures plastered to my bedroom wall, the birth of my obsession. Tunes: Steppenwolf, Three Dog Night, Motown
the heartbreak of the seventies..."ponycars" with 122 to 139 horsepower, 78 Trans Am bragging about 220 hp, cars with 68 hp (I kid you not), Hornet, Bobcat, Gremlin, Pacer...Tunes: The Bee Gees, Disco
the dark ages of the 80's...Corvette (like 'em or not, a benchmark) 205 hp, Eagle, LeBaron, Cordoba...wait for it...K cars...Tunes: ABBA, Air Supply, Falco (although I do love me some ZZ Top!)
So, if you subscribe to "History repeats itself"...THE END IS NEAR!
Yo Paladin06 Let's see now, since the early 60's Chrysler, Ford, and GM have always said " behind closed Corp. doors" If they can sell it & make $$ THEY WILL BUILD IT! This thing about 2019 is horse crap!!
By 2019, the Challenger will be an old car, and it wouldn't surprise me if they came out with some sort of limited production "Super Final Edition" when that time comes.
the new Ford GT doesnt need a v8
the GTR doesnt need a v8
the GNX didnt need a v8
sky is not falling......The people voted for a president who wants better mileage and doesnt like your gas guzzling HC
The V8 will never die completely. Most of us just will not be able to afford the taxes, tariffs, and any other excuse they can come up with to charge.
like really who cares im just trying to get a16, after Chrysler failed to build me a 15, worry about 19 when the time comes
