I have a green tear drop shaped light on my instrument cluster just to the left of the "P" (Park). It comes on and stays on every time the car is running. I have looked through the manual three times now, and cannot find any reference to it. Anyone know what this light represents?

    Thanks,

    Phil

It designates ECO mode. My HC defaults to ECO. I just double tap the SRT button to load my custom settings after start up.

When you see the teardrop, press the SRT button once, if you see green everywhere, your in ECO mode. Press default and you'll be back in normal mode.

It will run mushy in eco mode. Change your default mode definition to get rid of it.

I don't mind the ECO mode on start up. Allows me to drive in Florida rain storms and keeps the HC in check in case my wife finds her way behind the wheel

It may look like a teardrop but it's supposed to be a leaf.

I thought one of those green leaf icon illuminated for each Prius you suck into the intake. Come up behind them fast, rev the motor and they disappear!

Good info. I've never saw the "leaf" and if I had ever saw it I would have had zero idea what it represents.

What I don't for the life of me understand is WHY in the world bother with an "ECO" mode on this type of car????o_O

Sometimes you have to slow down the car so much otherwise the slower cars won't come out to play!

I tried ECO mode for the first time on a 50 mile trip, on country roads (two lane) and got 24 MPG. Throttle response is reduced and the A8 upshifts early. I can see how this would be a benefit on Interstate Highway travel.

The more time I spend with this Cat, the more I find out about it...and the more I love it.
