Just talked to a friend who works at a San Diego dealership that is an official SRT dealership. He said they have 1 Hellcat coming in -- 28 potential buyers on the list. At least locally doubt if anyone will get the Hellcats for MSRP. He notes that one of the problems is the Chrysler has not made it clear exactly how many Hellcats will be made/available.

I just left my dealers and he has a black Hellcat for December with quite a few options that doesn't have a commitment. I am not kidding, I live in the most green Prius town in the Nation. Olympia, WA is not that far to get a Hellcat by the first of the year. They are very honest and don't price gouge. ;)

Actually they kinda did... Dodge CEO T. Kuniskis early on pledged to build all Hellcats that get ordered.. they just never said how long they would accept orders

I haven't said anything until now, my dealer has told me that they are being told by Dodge, SRT that they are only going to build 3700 for the build year. My dealer is not taking anymore orders because of that, they don't want to take somebodies money if they can't get them a car.

Some dealers are going to play those games, it is a free market if there is a supply/ demand.

But as an informed buyer we can make other choices. Should be plenty out there. My dealer had 2, I got #1 and the other was for his inventory, but he called to tell me he sold it to somebody in FL. So there is a Pitch Black with satin black hood option going south. He may earn a #3 but they would let him order until the first 2 are delivered.

Hey hellcat1. Tell me about the planned wider rims and 295/35 super sport tires.

The Michelin tires should fit on the factory wheels,, I have read they hook up really good

I have 22"x10.5" Foose wheels with 295/30 ZR22 on the rear of my 2010 SRT8. When on a lift the tires barely touch the plastic inner fender. When the car is on the ground there is almost 1/2" gap. I can see no reason why a 20"x10.5" wheel will not fit. A good choice may be to have the stock wheels widened.

Understand this, the Hellcat has already served it's purpose, also, Dodge makes no money on them. They will not be made in large numbers, nor for a very long period.

Dodge has to make money on the hellcat, otherwise they would never built it,, never invested over two years working in it..Dodge is going to ride this out as long as they can...car company's don't build cars if they don't make money on them

There seems to be lots of confusion among dealers. I have talked with many and so far I get a different answer each time, none of which coincides with what the Dodge CEO said about building a Hellcat for everyone that wants one. One dealer tells me they can't get one for two years, one said order banks are closed but I can give them a deposit for a 2016. Just seems like there could be better communication between Dodge and its dealers.

I also saw something about dealers being punished by Dodge for price gouging, but boy there is a lot of that going on right now.

My take on all this is this... They will build 5000 for 2015 ( Canada and United States combined) demand will dictate for 2016 but I bet it's around 8,000 Challenger Hellcats and 2017 will be the FINAL year for all Challengers based on this platform. Who knows what the market will dictate but I personally see a HUGE demand for this car as. Long as they build it.
Just my OPINIONS and my 2 cents
