Just discovered this issue a few days ago with my car; whenever the RPMs are between 1,100 and 1,800 (going up or down the range, doesn't matter) there is a very distinct metal on metal rubbing sound and vibration through the car. I can feel it in the pedals and through the seat and I can hear it. It's particularly bad during cold starts when the rpms slowly fall through that range.

Clutch, flywheel, pressure plate? Can't be the drive shaft, because it happens when the car isn't moving (does happen while I drive too though). What else could it be? Also, at slow speeds I sometimes feel a clunk while turning. Related?

Is the car just shaking itself apart and things are coming loose everywhere? I have an appointment to bring it to the dealer. They want it for 2-3 days and don't have loaners, so that friggin sucks (god, I miss BMW and Porsche dealers; free loaners as long as you needed).

So, any other M6 Bros with this issue?

Have you changed tire or driveshaft?

100% stock. Just started in the last few days (4,400 miles on the ODO).
