I just had my supercharger replaced, sound great for a week. I am starting to hear the same type noise again. Going to keep driving it around for a few months and see if it gets worse.

I took deliv in 4/2016, replaced supercharger 12/2016. Just sounds like its going back again. Just wondering if anyone has had more than 1 Supercharger replacement?

I had a similar experience on my 2016. Replaced SC after the same noises everyone's hearing. New one made same noises almost immediately. Traded the car for the 17. That makes noises too. Leaving this one alone. I've got better things to do than drive loaners. Performance is flawless. Jumps right to 10psi no problems.

I've had 2 replaced. 2016 Challenger. Picked up in November 2015. First one replaced around 10k miles. Drive it for 1k then put in winter storage. Noticed the noise after taking it out of storage in the spring but wasn't sure there was anything wrong with it until I saw others posting videos. Bright it to dealer and they knew something was wrong right away. 2nd supercharger sounded great....for 5 days then all of a sudden it came back and it was louder than the first one. Dealer heard it and ordered the 3rd one. I got to drive it for one day before having to put it away for winter. Fingers are crossed it has no issues in the spring!

Hell maybe the noise is - normal ? Hard to believe that IHI created this big a POS. This may be like the rear differential. Everyone was complaining about it but all you needed to do was change the oil and add the special additive and it was gone.

i think its time for all to relax, drive, and just wait; it just makes NO sense for FCA/dealers replacing the "faulty" superchargers with brand new ones that have the exact same issue. After the last 7-8 months that this issue first emerged, i would assume that the brand new replacements would have the corrected parts- it just makes no PR, financial, practical, or logical sense whatsoever.

I have had this "noise" since the 500 mile break-in period ended, and frankly always thought of it as normal idle whine. Just kept driving it. I currently have 1500 miles, the noise did not get worse, performance still excellent (11 psi boost), and the car still a blast to drive. if the supercharger ends up eventually going bad, will have FCA/dealer change it. if it goes bad after my warranty expired, i will just get another supercharger of my choice. the fact that we have a chassis, forged internals engine, and a transmission that can take 700+hp for me are the main reasons to choose the hellcat and throw any supercharger i damn well please running with.

Not wishing it on you but what will you do if the 3rd one makes the same noise?

Bring it back. Get another one. Possibly trade it in for newer model. Drive it off a cliff at 200mph! Jk.

Mine is an early 2015 with over 6k on it. Over the last couple thousand miles it's been getting noticeably louder (bearing noise). I have an appointment on Wednesday to it get checked out. I say replace it now before the season starts again. If the dealer replaces it and the new one becomes noisy then I'll just wait until next winter if it survives. Glad I didn't swap that pulley yet.

The dealer said SRT's response was the noise is normal up to 12k miles. I guess I'll keep driving it and see what happens.
