    Hey Guys,

I organized a fun run to the Lick Observatory on top of Mount Hamilton in the San Jose, CA area. It was with a bunch of my exotic car buddies. As of this morning, I only had 150 miles on the clock in John Wick, my PCP Hellcat, so I have not really pushed it at all.

I decided to take John Wick instead of my 2015 Porsche GT3. The run up to Mount Hamilton is about 40 miles that is super tight and technical. I really wanted to see how the Hellcat performed in really good company.

It didn't disappoint. It is definitely a heavy car but turned in very well and what was surprising was how much power you can apply without losing traction if you careful with the throttle. I had no problems keeping up with a pack of Porsche GT3 / GT2 / Ferraris / Lotus until nearing the summit when I had nothing but slow switchbacks. To be fair, even in my GT3 that has 4 wheel steering this section feels super tight.

Overall the Hellcat drove very much like my 2008 BMW M6 but with only so much more torque and power. The Hellcat is not a muscle car, it is VERY capable in the tight and twisties. I would call this thing a GT......

I also mounted a GoPro and captured some great video of the Supercharger whining away... Great Audio. I will edit the video when I have some time but here are some pics.... IMG_0619.JPG IMG_0634.JPG IMG_0649.JPG IMG_3847.JPG IMG_0642.JPG IMG_0644.JPG

Thank you. Some of us who have seen these perform against others have been saying the same thing. This car has tremendous potential with the torque available. Looking forward to seeing the video.

Thanks from me as well. I will say though, as I'm sure you know, put some tires on it and it will be so much better.

Awesome! Thank you for representing the hellcat so proudly. I can see the hellcat engine generated a lot of intrigue and excitement among the motorheads(4th pic). Looking forward to the video footage. Cheers..!!!

From the looks of the picture, it seems like the excitement was coming from the super sized hand warmer under the hood!

We were just horsing around and I thought it would be a fun photo. It was cold. I will post some videos shot by drones later today of the mountain top.

You are right. I saw it again and yeah I think they were just glad they had a good heat source to keep them warm. Lol

Thank you for the review. I have driven my 2015 911 Turbo up Mt. Hamilton and know the road very well. Now considering purchase of a Challenger Hellcat. Your post answers an important question: How well does the Hellcat perform in the turns. btw, PCP rules!

The Hellcat was surprisingly good. The switchbacks were a problem but they were problems for everything including our 911 with 4 wheel steering.... You really needed the Lotus or the Integra that was with us.

The Hellcat was prediction and tractable. No scary moments. The only surprise was the thirst. We went up Old Mines road (40 miles) and it sucked up half a tank of gas!!

    The Supercharger whine is intoxicating...

See this video shot from a drone of the cars and the surrounding mountain just to get an idea of the roads :)

Whaat? Half a tank? I'd better plan my fun runs accordingly. Great video! Hope to meet you soon.

The hellcat looks so out of place. Like Ronda Rousey standing in a line up at a Miss America pageant.

The Hellcat is one of the rarest cars there.
