Ladies and gentlemen we will be hitting the 10th Annual Spring Festival of LX's this weekend, and bringing you pics and info from the event. The Spring Festival is the Super Bowl of meets with many execs from FCA, Dodge, Mopar and SRT lending their support and making their appearances. We will be attending an exclusive forum breakfast hosted by Dodge which should prove to be a very good time. If you all have any questions you'd like us to ask while we are there, please do post them in this thread.

While we obviously won't be able to ask everyone's questions, we may be able to corner some execs and get some of your questions answered. Remember, any questions about future vehicles is pretty much a dead end. We don't ask them and they don't answer them :)

Stay tuned and leave us your questions!

I think the Harmon Kardon systems in both cars is a hot topic for owners at the moment. The lack of volume on the Challenger and lack of bass on the Charger seem to be a common gripe.

What happened to the sunroof option on the Challenger?

Why did the Charger get the new style (protruding edges) rear spoiler while the Challenger got stuck with the old style flat edge spoiler?

I'm sure I'll take heat for this because I'm probably the only one that doesn't know....Why on the A8 in manual mode must I slap the shifter down to go up in gears and up to go down in gears? I'm a classic GM guy and that is driving me crazy.

In regards to shifting the A8 via the shifter I initially had the same thought process, that it is backwards. However I think the way it is, is actually 'correct'. Race cars with sequential gearboxes shift in the same manner -- pull back for upshifts, push forward for downshifts. Reason being: acceleration pushes you back into your seat so the 'natural' direction to upshift is pulling back. Same as when you're hard braking and negative g force pushes you forward, push forward to downshift.

All that said, the fact that OEMs use both methods makes it confusing when you hop in another car that has it the other way around.

I'll be there. Won't have car in time though. It's looking like I might have a vin. (Almost as good at this point).
Can I sit in at the forum breakfast if I promise to be good?
I live fairly close and can show up early. If anyone wants to wash their car, i can help with that as well.
Looking like it'll be fantastic weather as well!

I was wondering how it was setup and have been forgeting to ask.

The reason is that in the old cars set up for racing, you would have a "manual reverse" valve body.

This swapped 1st and 3rd and disabled the automatic from basiclly being an automatic shifting wise. You had to shift it manually. Put it in second and take off, it's in second. Same with third. No need for mods to change shift points.

The reason for the 1st and 3rd swap was to shift away from nuetral and reverse. Selecting towards you each shift. In high gear the shifter was the farthest away from nuetral/reverse and towards the back of the car. Nothing like hitting reverse by accident going into high gear to ruin your day.

So they have emulated the old school reverse valve body...which I like. That's how my Coronet is set up.
