    Just curious...

I see a few places reporting a claim that the Trackhawk can sprint to 60 in 2.7 seconds,

Hmmmm...I'm guessing that this is due to the 4X4 superior launching capability or there something else different. Fast SUV's are sort of a joke here in NY and LA, but still wondering that the big Jeep will be a full second faster to 60 according to FCA....does the Cat lose a whole second just because it's RWD?

Now add DRs to the Cat and you might get under 3 seconds...but not 2.7.

I would speculate both 4WD & lower gearing

I'm not surprised it would be quicker to 60 but I expect the Charger/Chally to make it up after the 1/8 mile. The Trackhawk is going to hurt a lot of feelings and will be a beast stop light to stop light.

Our SRT Jeep is a 2010 and "only" a 6.1 L but from a dead stop it launches so hard it is sometimes disorienting with my sinus problems. It is the gearing and AWD. It just goes on dry pavement. My Hellcat just wants to do smokey burnouts. Trackhawk (I hate that name) will no doubt smoke the Challenger 0-60.

remember the 6.1 jeep was faster than the 392 jeep.....the jeep is a pig.....dont count on 2.9 seconds

the guy i knew with a 392 jeep said it was slower than his old old 392 challenger.....

its still the same jeep....dont see it being faster...4wd is nice, but isnt that jeep like 7,000 lbs???

I have trouble believing that. That's heavier than a 2500 series dually 4wd pickup.

unless they dropped 2,000lbs off the trackhawk it wont be 2.7........and odds are they added 200lbs for the HC powertrain and maybe 100-200 for the added driveline improvements

the trackhawk may sink into blacktop on a hot day..you may need to put out some steel plates to park on when you go to the grocery store...or your car may be sunk 6" into the blacktop its so heavy

Exactly. Far cry from 7000 lb., and only 10% heavier than a Hellcat Charger.

I was going to say, 7k lbs? My 3500 is ~7300.

The Trackhawk (or whatever the Hellcat Jeep is ultimately called) is going to be a riot launching. AWD is going to kill damn near anything, it's going to be awesome. Shit my truck is probably around low 600's right now and a 4x4 launch on boost is awesome. Drop almost 2k lbs?

2.7? Who knows right now? But it's going to eat Hellcat cars for lunch. Whether they reel it in by the 1/4 depends on driver and ultimately what the rating is for the Jeep; if it were still 707 the cars may not.

Why would you say that? The 392 Jeep certainly can't come anywhere near to the 392 cars in the 1/8 or 1/4 or top speed for that matter...after the first 100' or so the race will be over....The jeep not only has weight it has air resistance and more drivetrain eating the HP before it gets to the ground....I bet the Jeep at most will be a mid/high 11s vehicle..
