I was at the racetrack today and a gentleman destroyed his driveshaft on His A8 hellcat. Had to push the car back off the line and the engine would not shut off. Anyone hear this before? Any thoughts on what to do in this situation?

They told me the truck would not recognize it that's the reason it wouldn't turn it off so they replaced the keys problem solved only happened in cool weather

The car is stock. It is not clear what broke. Will find out later this week. The shut off problem was fixed by accessing the trunk through the back seat and opening the trunk lid by pulling the yellow tab. Then I accessed the fuse box in the trunk and, with the help of the owner's manual and the map on the inside of the fuse box cover, located and removed the fuse for the fuel pump.

I did have two runs of 10.9 before the problem occurred on what was going to be my seventh and last run of the day. This was the car's first strip outing and it was intended to be used for testing and getting used to the car. It had more than 3000 around town miles on it prior to today with no issues. If the problem turns out to be interesting, I'll post what it was.

    It's a great car.

Did you try holding in the pushbutton for several seconds?

How about just removing the push button and use the key. Fuel starving the engine is not a good idea.

Why would starving the engine hurt... Now you could disconnect the battery
