    Hey Guys,

I am new to this forum. I am living in the UAE and have just purchased a Challenger Hellcat. Driving the car about 500km I noticed these strange marks and residue of some sort on All my Wheel RIMS. It's a greyish colour solid state stuck on the RIMS. Tried polishing the surface, didn't help.

Any advice or help will be appreciated. image.jpeg

    Hello, and welcome to Hellcat.org!

It probably looks different in person, but looking at the picture it appears to me as if the paint finish is thin and/or flaking off in those areas. The paint on the Hellcat rims is not very good to begin with, so my suggestion is to get your rims powder coated. The powder coating can be done in any color you like, and it is MUCH more durable than the cheap, thin, paint that comes from the factory.

That was my first impression as well. But unfortunately it's like a coating of greyish paint on top the original finish. the worst part is, it wasn't there when I picked up the car from the dealer.

Something was sprayed across them from the backside, like a high speed run through a puddle with some paint or chemical.

Personally, get them powder coated. The factory finish of the matt black rims is super thin and even washing them will leave marks if your not really careful. Great rims, they just didn't put a very good finish on them.

It is worth a shot to take it to the dealer and have them submit DIgital imaging of the rims to Chrysler asking for replacement

I've shown them to the dealer. He's asked me drop the car off and they will inspect. Though he said there is a high possibility that they would sand it down and repaint them.

That isn't how Chrysler does those claims. Chrysler doesn't paint rims, they replace them. I would call Chrysler customer care at
1-800-992-1997 and open a cair file
