I saw several Hellcat Chargers and Challengers at the Texas Mile last week but didn't get to catch most of the speeds. Any folks from here and if so, what were the speeds and mods?

Most of the Challengers I saw were running 180-182, the 2 Chargers that I kept up with were 184-186.
    They were all A8 cars.
The fastest M6 Challenger I saw went 176, although I didn't catch all of his runs.
Damned impressive for all stock cars. By comparison the fastest stock Z06 was hitting 175-176.

My GT500 with minor mods was running 187-188, although I was maxed out in 5th at the 3/4 mark and just had to hold it into redline the last 1/4 mile. Shifting to 6th netted a 6mph decrease.
I'm going to drop to 3.55's for October and plan to be mid 190's.
The Hellcats should do better with better tires/some mods.

A few of the cats I saw had performance stickers on them so was curious to any mods. Those are some great trap speeds.

190's will be awesome in the 500. Best of luck.

Theone sublime green one driven by the younger guy with red hair I know was all stock, and he was running the same time as most of the others; 180-182 but was struggling for traction.
There were 2 B5 Chargers. One had a Hennessey decal the other was all stock. Ironically both ran 186ish.

I remember seeing the green Challenger. That was my first time seeing a B5 Charger in person. Very nice color in person. I think everyone was struggling for traction, but good thing it's a mile and not a 1/4. What color is your 500? I saw some nice ones out there.

What tires were on the Cats? The rules indicate that in addition to the speed rating, the load rating must equal or better the factory rating. Very few tires meet the factory load rating.

It looked like the stock tires on the ones I got close enough to to see.

Thanks. There are stickier tires out there, but none meet the exact load spec of (106y).

I'm doing several half and mile races and wanted to upgrade for the mile, from the P Zero. Half mile races allow drag radials.

Most were stock. I saw one with Conti DW Extremes in a 315.

Careful with that. I've heard that there is a move to outlaw DR's altogether.
I honestly think you can run a good quality street tire and hook if you know how to drive, i.e. don't just romp it off the line.
I ran 295 MPSS on my GT500 and was still able to trap 130-131 1/4 mile times at the Mile, so it can be done.

Alternatively you could always go to an 19" wheel and run R7's.

If you have never done the standing mile, you will get hooked!! Do you have the A8 or manual?

You are not playing around around! I am thinking about doing the Arkansas Mile. It is the first time the mile is being held at that location so curious to see how smooth or not the runway is. Texas Mile runway is rough.
