My HC is a week old. Im having nothing but problems with getting it to start. I have had a tender hooked up to it and it shows a green light. When I go to start it the starter just clicks for a second and nothing. Only way to start it is by jumping the car. Does anyone know WTF is going on. Is the battery on the fritz or is the alternator not doing its job? I know the car only has 35 miles on it and has not had a lot of time for the alternator to recharge the battery. But you would think the battery tender would charge it enough to start it??? Any one with any ideas of what is going on?

Another member recently had alternator issues. Get it serviced under warranty by your dealership.

Chances are you have a bad battery, battery cable or bad ground connection. If your battery is fully charged check the tightness of you connections to the battery, chassis and starter. If the battery is fully charged it's not an alternator issue. The battery should read 13-13.5 volts minimum if fully charged.

Agree with reply. You do know that Autozone tests batteries for free, take it out and see what it tests for peace of mind before going to dealer.

Take it back so they have a record of it on file. I've had mine stored since December and it starts up with no tender on it

Never heard of that. If it were true then put the key 10 feet from the car and then walk up to it and see if it unlocks and opens which it won't.

Thanks guys. I'm really Leary about leaving my car with the dealer. It's my last option. I have seen too many reruns of ferris buellers day off. Lol

If you own a multimeter, you can check alternator output by placing positive lead on nut/red wire on back of alternator and other probe on ground. Should read 14 volts dc.

Make sure your battery cables are tight. If you had a tender on it and the battery is indeed charged properly then you probably have a connection issue. Alternator isn't doing anything to start the car.

    UPDATE...
I just picked up my cat. 3 days in the shop. Had a bad starter and a bad ground. Golling Dodge service dept. in Bloomfield hills was great to work with. I'm dropping it tomorrow for a clear bra and a set of nitto triple nickels put on the back.im ready for the summer.
