Well, finally D1 with a schedules build date, so time to start thinking what I want to do to the car!

I live in California and front plates are required, especially in my community. Saw something on hide a plate where you can retract/hide the plate when parked. Has anyone installed on of these? Was it a clean install?

They claim it is universal fit, but never seems to be that easy. Let me know if you have and a pic would be great too!

    Thanks

Hmm.. though it's a cool idea - I wonder how it will hold up to high wind at speed. Not to mention having something else up front to snag on stuff.

I would look into the electric ones. Have the switch in the dash and put it out if needed.

Exactly what I was thinking! It would look so much "cleaner" with the front plate retracted when parked!

Yeah, in a post quite some time ago we talked about this. I think it was MagnumMark that linked a hide away plate that was on a Slomaro that didn't take up much room. I have been toying with it, but haven't purchased it yet. Its the law here too, but I figure its the least of my problems. They are usually behind me when I get caught anyway.

Was hoping someone had installed it and had a few words of wisdom to share. The Dealer tells me they have to install a front plate mount by law and I do not want the holes and clunky plate showing all the time. They agreed to install this, but looking for input from someone who already tried it!

Anyone? Will I be the first?

I saw on on a GT500 that I was considering, It was top notch but I do not know what company or where it came from.

I have not seen anyone on this forum that has installed one. I have been considering but the car spoiler is low already and I am a little unsure. I know I need to do something, but I insisted that my dealer not put holes in the car so, I have the plate holder in case.

Wisconsin "requires" front plates, but I have yet to have an issue on my previous Challengers. IF I get pulled over for no front plat I will probably pay the ticket and still not put it on. IF I get pulled over a 2nd time I will probably look closely at the hide a plate.

Wasn't it you that had shown me that link to the Camaro with one on it? I couldn't remember who that was...

I saw a video a month or two ago of an electric hide a plate...I think it was installed on a Charger. I'll see if I can find it.

    Found it:
