ive never started out on a hill before in my hellcat and the only way to work there is a hill. Ive been on night shifts so ive never had to stop on it. I heard that in the mustang it kinda helps you out and brakes for you when your starting on a hill. Is the m6 hellcat like that? I dont want to give it to much gas and spin everywhere and i dont want to roll back into a car

It has a hold feature on hills that will prevent the car from rolling backwards for a short period of time 1-2 secs. Go find some hills and practice to get the feel of it.

Okay so the car wont move backwards for 1-2 seconds? Thats great because with the crappy weather here i would probably give it to much gas and spin lol

Make sure you have your setting on for Hill Assist. It works excellent. I have a few hills around here and have never had a problem. Just careful not to ride the clutch too much, it's a little sensitive.:)

I have an extremely steep driveway leading to an underground garage. Steeper than you could ever imagine. Most of my cars do not have hill assist and are clutch. The bottom line... don't rely on crutches like 'hill assist' etc. IMHO, Practice makes perfect, and that crazy driveway has made me have no issues under any circumstances with hills. It's all about knowing the clutch 'bite-point' without thinking about it. It is possible on most any hill to not roll back, (or stall) without even hitting the gas. That is the first thing you need to achieve consistently.

I personally find the modern hill assist features to be irritating on the street. The one on my GT500 would come on with even the slightest of grades and it would catch me by surprise. The brakes are holding you and your clutch technique suddenly has to change. Honestly, I think it causes more problems than it solves.

Now off road is a different story. I have the feature on my 2014 Rubicon wrangler and it is pretty cool when you are stuck on a slick or loose hill.

So true... I did when I first got a manual trans car with it ... try to 'get used to it'. I actually had it cut out on me and let me roll back unexpectedly. After that I went back to only relying on the clutch bite-point.

YOU SAID IT!!!!! Skip shift is a PITA but I don't want to deal with the skip shift eliminator, so I just complain about it.:D or mostly just drive like a maniac and then it never engages. ;)

What a simple device that makes such s difference. Nothing like shifting and going into 4th gear. Could turn a friendly import dusting into a race. Lol!!! Your great tammie. I love your posts

I love mine especially when I first started driving my m6. I didn't have to worry to much when I first got Kitty because I live in good old flat South Texas. Then we went to Georgia for a job and I swear every light is on top of a big hill. I was a nervous wreck that I would roll back into someone but then I learned how to use the hill assist and conquered the hills.
