Got my new mickey thompson et street r 305/45 on the bravado 18" rims and set off to LxBN over the weekend.

Running at 18 psi you can see how much the tires slipped on the rim. Not only that but the mark went all the way around at least once. Balance was off all day because of it.

Any ideas (aside from bolting) on how to stop the slip? Some were saying sanding and gluing maybe?

Did they use soap on the beads when mounting them? If so that can make em slip. Need to mount dry. I have same combo no issues.

Also looks like yours took a lot of wheel weights!

Ok, Noquarter i have been a drag racer many years now, take the car to discount tire and take a can of gumout spray carb cleaner break down the tire from the rim make sure no tire soap is on the bead spray the tire bead good with the gumout carb spray mount the tire.air it up.the gumout softens the rubber bead so it will stick to the rim like it was vulcanized to it been doing this on slicks for years, works like a charm..bam bam

They will point to a sign that says "No Racing" or some such stuff. :(

Further, I am surprised they left any paint on that rim from the usual rough treatment I've seen with those guys!

Got the wheels from Discount Tire Direct. Got the tires from a local shop (Pickups Plus) who also mounted them.

What do you think of the contact patch on those tires when aired down at the track? I have been considering these but wasn't sure about how much foot print they would have.

Tires are phenomenal.. First gear 2000k launch dead hooks for the most part. Minus the wheel spin in the tire.
