Today, believe it or not, I ran into a 2013 Shelby GT500 out by the car wash I go to in another town(it has awesome tri-gloss wax and Rain X clear coat polish and you get free time in a dryer with heat). So I tailed him to a long mile half stretch of highway and we lit it up. I was behind him, we were not side by side from the start, by I did pass him easily at 130mph. The issue I had was at 177mph my hood was shaking and getting some lift. Not horrible, but noticeable. Also the windshield wipers were fluttering strongly. I have had my other SRT's above 160 without this issue and this Hellcat without this issue. It might have been the wind, with wide open fields on either side, but I thought the car was built for this exact type of performance. Also, I do not recommend or support this type of activity from anyone else...I am a professional. (hehehehehe)

Wow, nice run. It must have been 1/2 mi run after you were freeway speed already? I don't I know if I will ever get that fast I my cat but I do plan on adding hood pins just in case. Guess maybe you were running into a decent headwind?

That hood has got to be moving a lot air at that speed! Having it act like an 'airfoil' may require pins if hood alignment is good. But I wouldn't be surprised if it's the hood air movement that is causing the wipers to flutter.
    Not side gusts.

Do you think it could be due to the heat extractors? Maybe a little movement is okay??

I was going to ask you to check that the hood is tight against the rubber bumpers that are on each side. These are to adjust hood height and provide stability to the hood when it is closed.

Interesting.... from another topic no spare pieces of wood hanging out anywhere under the hood?

I had similar with a an HO kit whipple 08 Mustang - and the hood would flutter at any thing over 130- on the track of course....

    - curious as to what others say about "higher speed" manners on the "race track"

    :D

If you watch the video on ignition tv, they did a standing mile test, and you could see the hood bending up in the center..It's not a steel hood, so I would assume at that speed you would have some flex
