Been measuring Gwendolyn's body heat lately ;)
All measurements are in degrees farenheint 'cuz MURICA that's why :p
(All preliminary stuff here-just a hot day and some long rides).

    Pax Extractor/Nostril: 180
    Drv Extractor/Nostril: 177
    Center/Mouth: 185
    Center of Hood: 149
Back of Hood: (base of windshield): 128

    Hood open:
    Hood handle: 165
    Airbox (factory): 187
    Fusebox: 187
    S/C Driverside: 178
    S/C PAx Side: 174
    Pax Cylinder Head (front): 217
    Drv Cylinder Head (front): 204

I have followed this up on multiple occasions, and these have been the hottest (just not logged it) and where I got the whole "Pax side of the engine compartment and components are hotter than the driver side."

Now this info may not mean a lot to some (well, probably to no one except me  and the fact is I really don't have any accurate way of measuring temps on the go other than just keep measuring to establish a baseline and make some mod to see where we all end up.

I would love others to spend the $20-30 and get one of these things and see if our temps match up-more or less.

I really think there will be a measurable advantage from removing the hoodmat and the rear hood seal (but beware I believe it helps support the hood on the edges when it bows upwards) just like there is abenefit from running a slightly cooler thermostat.

This removal of the mat will allow more room over the S/C and removal of the rear seal will allow more hot air to extract rearward of the windshield base. I have previously noted that with the rear seal removed, the hood continues to bow, but starts at higher speeds. Once over that speed, air still can't escape fast enough.

I guess one way to prove it will be to drive a controlled loop for a few minutes, stop the car, laser these areas, remove the item, run the loop again, then lase the target area for temps.

Meaning, the windshield base should be hotter, and the supercharger cooler. The center of the hood may end up being a bit higher though.

For you Guys like TopCat and Dr. B, this is all bordering on soimple mental masturbation, but for some of us 'Cats that want to do the little things that maintain our treasured warranties this is big stuff :p

I am pretty sure I already know what the chart will look like.

Thanks VP for the info, interesting the difference between the sides from 204 to 217 must be how the coolant flows thru????

we just want to see a "tool" for registering the internal temps so we can compare the heat under our hoods.

    thats all.
