This might be a basic question, but,,,.

How many songs can you put in a folder on a 32gb SD card for our Challengers?
Is there a limit to how many songs you can have in each folder under the root directory?
I'm going to have several folders with different music (years) in each.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

It varies, it also comes down to what file type, how big they are (quality wise) If you average 5mb a song, would be about 6400 songs

I use an iPod and SD card in mine. I find the iPod is a much better choice because you can actually control the iPod from the touch screen. You can shuffle the songs in the play lists and repeat the playlist. My SD card has the same number of songs, about 3,000 divided into a dozen folders. With the SD card you cannot shuffle the songs in the folder, it shuffles the whole SD card. When it plays all the songs in one folder it moves to the next folder, it won't repeat the folder. I would think that the number of songs actually on the SD card would make no difference. I would think you could put all the songs in one folder, it's only the total size of all of the songs that matter I would think. If anyone knows how to make an SD card work like the iPod I would sure like to hear about it.
