I betrayed life in Hellcat VON hell and purchased a 392 Charger last night. Didn't get out of the dealership till 11. Not feeling great about calling the other dealer and canceling my order, but everyone at Covert Dodge in Austin gets to move up a spot, I believe I was #1.

Grtz! I know you wanted the HellCat, but you still got a sweet car! I do not blame you for getting tired of waiting. I really lucked out, getting Dante when and the way I did. If I had still been waiting in January, I would have just kept my 2013 392.

Seriously, enjoy that car, it is gorgeous! Drive safely! :)

Good move, You can now enjoy the car and have the entire summer with it and no more thinking about your VON.

Its been a real nice 180 degree change, going from anxiety to driving delightfulness and I'm very impressed with the 392. I wouldn't call the behemoth a fast car but it is a powerful vehicle with the ability to accelerate from any starting speed with alacrity. The handling characteristics change dramatically from street to track but I'm staying disciplined on the throttle as the burn-in period elapses mile by mile.

Called a disappointed sounding salesman at the dealership where my Hellcat order was placed, he told me the order is in BG status and he'll have to call a Chrysler rep to cancel it, but he believed it would have made the cut to be one of only 594 projected Charger Hellcats for the 2015 model year. The chance of owning a car that rare would have been very special, but I'm ready to start summer and put the car purchasing dilemma behind me. Until I'm ready to get rid of my Jeep.

    Maaaaaaaaan... congrats on the 392.

I'm still bummed by all of these people (understandably) giving up on owning a truly once in a lifetime car like the Hellcat.

The 392 is a FANTASTIC vehicle, no doubts about that... I have one, been there, bought the T-shirt.

It's just... you don't think you're ever going to regret NOT getting a Hellcat??? I know I WOULD!!!

Not at all regretting the 392. I believe it will be a great platform for performance modifications and is a great car for me in terms of cost and my level of driving expertise. I'll be able to add horsepower as I become acclimated to driving such a powerful car. I'm excited about the reception the Hellcat and other performance sedans have received and I look forward to carmakers getting back into the muscle 4 door market wholeheartedly.

Hello there keepAustinUgly, JohnnyL here. Congrats on your recent buy!! That is one solid beast of a car!! I am currently in the market looking to purchase a 2015 Dodge Charger SRT 392. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay "Out the Door" for this bad boy? Thanks in advance!

Johnny I paid sticker @ ~$56K then about another $3.5 in taxes and fees. Out the door was at $60K, about $16K cheaper than what my pending Hellcat order was going to cost me.
