Got a VM from the dealer saying he had good news on mine. I obv never check my vm, he left it Friday. I called back yesterday, since I was stuck at carmax trying to find value for my current car, and he wasn't in. Any bets on what the good news is? PS, a dealer was going to give me 7k over what Carmax offered lol.

Thanks, does that mean soon? I'm not in a jam right now, but my car is starting to get thin.

Sounds like maybe a VIN is coming. Bust of luck.

Yeah, you can count on getting more from the dealer on a trade in then to sell it to CarMax. I had the same experience. My dealer sent me to CarMax to check out what they might give, which lead me to believe they knew this and was using CarMax to bring me down to their good deal. So when I got to the dealership I just told them no I didn't go by CarMax but had to have at least this much XXXX to be able to do the trade. They said, no problem, deal done.

Well...its starting to move forward. If it is a ViIN and there are no scheduling issues...meaning D1....it could be built within 7-10 day...best case scenario...and shipping could be another 2-5 weeks depending how close you are to the factory. Or it could not show up for another 2 months+. Good chance..if it is a VIN...that you should have it by late May/early June. Just a guess as many forum members delivery times vary.

When you get a chance, just do some browsing on some of the older posts. You will get an idea as to what others before you have gone through. Tons of good info here. Welcome to the group.

Just a side note Carmax always offer about 50% less than what you can get for cash value. I tried two cars in the past and I had to chuckle out the door

Agreed. I've been in "D1" for a month now, it's not all smiles and sunshine like it's cracked up to be.

Ya, I wasn't an ass, but told the guy I was a buyer at that price. He said it's good for 7 days, I think he saw me throw it in the trash.

Well that's unfortunate. If it does take too long, I'll probably end up getting something else. Dealer told me, many months ago, he'd have zero problem if I cancelled at anytime. I'll let y'all know if I do, and maybe the hunters can snag it. He promised MSRP to me on it, I'm sure he'd stick to that. Getting ahead of myself, I still don't formally know what the good news is!

CarMax buys low and sell high
Never did get any good prices from them, Once I looked at a used GT500 was an ok deal. but most of the time the prices are not as good as the real dealers.

    glad you got you VIN

If it is a VIN, maybe you could go in and get an exact POC (Purchase Order Contract) with the agreed trade in and sale price. I requested an updated one as soon as my car was in transit because mine was an early build and it showed up on the car sites for sale. Later found out they just get posted when it was shipped.o_O If you have an idea of exactly what your out of pocket or financing will be, it might be a little easier for you. The stressor is that the trade is wearing more and more. You could always try for a private sale up to the date its delivered and if it doesn't sell, trade it. That then leaves you without a car if it sells. I understand if that is your situation, that was mine. I was trading my Charger for the Hellcat Challenger. I already had the trade in price agreed upon so it was easy trade. Good luck. I really hope it works out and you get the Hellcat, it is an amazing car!:)
