So... this happened to my 'Cat and my Ram yesterday morning. A drunk kid driving a Chevy 4x4 rammed my 2 vehicles and 2 others... like the title says, I need a hug... lol

About 6:25 am, Sunday morning the kid hit the Audi and the Ford first, then somehow bounced around the post, swung back in and impacted on the Hellcat. Was moving fast enough to shove the Hellcat front end over about 3.5 feet into my truck and shoved the truck over about 6 inches into the pole on the other side. He drove his truck to the end of the parking row before it gave out and walked away on foot. A young couple out for a morning walk witnessed the event and called the Police. They impounded his truck and hopefully will track him down. Now the insurance fun...

Get a lawyer fast: Make sure you get all of he police reports, most people walk away because they don't want breathalyzer tests done. When you contact a lawyer, remember you purchase insurance to protect you, not him. My belief is he is still liable in civil court for the damages he caused, even though your insurance may pick up the $'s, depending on if you have uninsured drivers coverage (you don't know anything about this guy now.) Check on your states limit for small claims court, you may be able to pick up $'s there to cover your deductible, time away from work, rental car expenses.

Ask the lawyer about what his parents liability is if he lives at home, was in a car registered in their name, or if the car was registered to a business. A little preperation on your part may save you thousands.

Sorry, hope it ends well for you.

That's good advice, thank you. I have a member services option through my credit union for legal consultation. It won't cost anything to at least have the conversation. I'll be making the appointment tomorrow.

So sorry. Managing to hit both just adds insult to injury.
