I had the Charger HC parked in front of my house and I was in the kitchen brewing my homemade barbecue sauce. It's amazing (the car and the sauce). Anyway, right in the middle of a taste test I heard my car starting outside. I'm the only one with a key and I had it with me at the time so I flew out the door to the garage ready to have my wife and daughters beat the stuffing out of whomever was jacking my car. Turns out the garage door was closed and no one else was around. I must have bumped my key in my pocket against the counter as I was leaning over for a taste (twice). Scared the poop out of me but I'm glad it all ended well. I could have caught someone messing with my car, or worse yet I could have blamed my wife for taking my key, touching off a disagreement that rarely avoids bloodshed (usually mine).

Anybody have this happen to them?

    Just curious

My husband has done that before ... not with Dante, but on the 2013 392 that I traded in. Accidentally started the car on a few occasions, and other times set off the alarm. EXTREMELY annoying!

still happens to me and my Explorer. I have a viper remote in it and I often wondered why I was getting such lousy gas mileage. My co workers would tell me that my car was running a few times a day.
Damn viper remote had a 1/2 mile range when new.
Now I make sure the darn keys are put in my jacket and not left in my pants pocket.
In the winter, my car was warm and I wondered why. then I started to pay attention to the key fob more and noticed that the feedback was correct, I was starting my car as I worked on someone computer.
Retired now so I don't carry my keys around any more.

It would freak me out for sure. It might be good to keep the keys locked up after each use in a safe.

This was a real issue some years back with other car brands, quiet ones where people would end up getting killed by carbon monoxide poison, going to sleep, and the car started in the garage, in split level homes or designs where bedrooms were above the garage.

At least with ours it's 2 button presses and limited run times.

My keys never stay in my pocket, unless I'm out and about. At home they're dumped in an rf shielded box, the car is locked, so no one can get in because the remote is near.
