This is what Amsoil recommended for the hellcat engine just released this week that I called to confirm yesterday and currently they are distributing it to resellers.

They said it works for the Chrysler specifications MS12633 and designed to apply for the Hellcat engine, Nissan GT-R as well

AZFQT Signature 0w40 and they do not have an oil filter cap to go with the Hellcat at this time.

Royal Purple has not released anything for the hellcat engine still as I called to confirm yesterday.

How does this price compare to the factory recommended penzoil per quart? I've been a maintenance mechanic all of my life, as well as a gearhead. I have always thought that it best to go with factory recommended oil for any piece of equipment, cars or machinery. Here's why. A manufacturer of a machine or engine wants their product to be a good one in the eyes of a consumer. If they used Penzoil during all of the testing leading up to the launch of the hellcat engine, they would have found a problem with it if there was one. There is a lot of engineering that goes into engine design, and lubrication is part of that. I'm not an advocate for Penzoil, just an advocate for those that did all of the testing on this engine. If they tested with Mobil 1 and had success, I would use that. Using products like royal purple and amsoil that were not tested in the engine during development, is taking a bit of an unnecessary risk. JMHO

I agree with you to a point, but when oil companies purchase products like RP for their own problematic equipment (high bearing temps, etc.) that their own products can't solve the issue...that tells me something as well.

RP does have a 0W-40. I would be interested to know what makes one 0W-40 a "developed for Hellcat" oil vs a regular 0W-40.

Yeah I asked RP and Amsoil if they tested these oils in the hellcat and the answer was yes for Amsoil but it was not during development of the hellcat while it was being engineered I'm sure. Hope someone knows more about this can chime in like cereal killer

If they said it meets Chryslers Specs and it was tested on the Hellcat you can feel safe to use it. AMSOIL isn't known for making false claims when it comes to the safety of their oils in engines.

If you're still a little hesitant, Penzoil Ultra Platinum is still a great alternative. ;)

Trust the Chrysler SRT engineers to build you a car that you dream of.
They build you a car that makes >700HP. Take you to circa 200mph. The same engineers co-develop an oil and it isnt the first choice? Pennzoil for me.

Sometimes I think people over think things but then again if man didn't think like that where would we be today.

I don't get why some people choose other brand oils than what's recommended. The Dodge Brothers felt confident with their choice for a 800+ horsepower motor to give it a warranty!!!

Truth be told not all synthetics are equal, so I understand why people want ONLY the best in their engine...especially a 707HP rabid animal.

I totally agree so why wouldn't the company paying for the warranty repairs only want the best also?

Its not like the factory fill isn't any good. PUP is actually the best Synthetic you can get off store shelves.
