I noticed when some folks post pics of their Hellcat, they blur out their license plate.
What is the point of this? Your plate is out there for the whole world to see when you are out driving.

just curious as to the reason...

couldn't care less, i have a vanity plate. I also do photography at car shows just for fun and find it weird when people ask me to blur their plate out, but not care the plate is there to see for everyone when they peel out and speed down the road. I respect the request but i think they say it out of muscle memory rather then put a thought into it.

Samething on IG, I don't put "hurhur in mexico hurhur" , dumb and pointless when you can see the exits to enter the bronx and NYC.

Warranties & insurance would be my guess. If they wanted to steal it, they'd just follow you home or nab you at a set of lights...

I guess staying "black ops" has it's uses; it kept my plate from showing up on a youtube video, so that's good! Vid wasn't really even of my car, but it's there just the same....

paranoia. The pics with the blurred out plates are inevitably photos on the car standing still in a scenic setting. Not racing. Not doing some illegal act. just sitting still looking pretty.

I think it is preventing ease of accessibility to information and identify theft protection.

You'd be surprised how easy it is to gain information just from a plate number and a picture/video.

I never understood that. If they're that uptight maybe they should cover it with a fig leaf..

I personally think it's quite simple.
    Boils down to 2 reasons.

    1. There are some verifiabe wackos on the internet. And who wants them to find you.

    2. *Most* people can't act like complete asshole's if they dont have the anonymity of the internet.

    IMHO

    Brother,

It is a post here, do the wackos really care about hellcats? I agree with point #2.
