I've been noticing some "blow by" on cold start after a hot soak. Meaning, if I do some spirited driving and let the car sit until it's cold then restart it, I notice a puff of smoke coming from the exhaust on initial start.
It's definitely smells like oil is burning. Oil level is still at full and so it doesn't seem to be consuming a lot of it.

Anyone else noticed this too? I only have about 8500 miles.

Yo MXER14, going by what you are saying it could be nothing, mine does the same thing off and on. 2015 HC. With a everyday average car it could mean valve seal leak, but you and I dont have a average car. Keep your eye on it , I would check oil level when you stop for gas.

Thanks for the confirmation! I just wanted to know if somebody else had the same experience.

Me too. Dealer SRT mechanic says no big deal as the engine runs so hot. I check the oil every 500 miles. Oil changed at 500 and 2000 miles.

2015 Challenger with 3100 miles in NJ. Next oil change in the spring.

A quart every 2K is not good.

Just bought mine and at 32 miles at startup it gave a puff of smoke. Dealer said the smoke is normal at startup because the hellcat has soft piston rings. I asked my friend which is the main mechanic there and he said the same. As long as it's not excessive I'm not worried.

Yup! Same thing here too. Not a huge issue but it's not too alarming either.

Def something to watch and check oil after 3 tanks of fuel. (SRT tech) gave me that tip when the cat is newer.
I get some light blow by but not everytime. I watch my oil quite a bit. 1,022 miles for me

Mine gave a big puff of blue smoke at about 300 miles, checked the oil and was about 1/2 quart low, topped it off and it still full at 600 miles, mashed the throttle today pretty good through 3 gears, pulled it to a hundred getting on the freeway, no smoke oil still good.

Mine does the same on cold start. After 2k mine was down 2 quarts. Been checking at least once a week and after 4k miles it seems to have stopped.

I would assume it is because forced induction engines need a larger gap on rings which naturally creates a little blow by but nothing to worry about. It can also be condensation in the exhaust at times as well.

I get the same thing . Went through a quart the first 700 miles . When I hit 3k oil consumption went down allot . may be a 1/4 after 1300 miles.
